Clarity – Alpha Arbutin 2% Serum

Clarity is Beautefire’s Alpha Arbutin serum. Alpha Arbutin is a brightening ingredient used to fade flat brown marks – the kind left behind by pimples, sun exposure and old tans – by slowing down the skin’s pigment-making process. Clarity pairs 2% Alpha Arbutin with Sodium Hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid) for hydration and a little Glycolic Acid to smooth rough texture.

It is a thin, water-light serum that absorbs in about a minute and does not leave a sticky film, so it sits comfortably under sunscreen and BB cream. It comes in a 30 ml bottle, and 2–3 drops cover the whole face.

Clarity is not a whitening product. It does not change your natural skin colour; it works on the patches that carry extra pigment so that your tone looks clearer and more even.

Clarity is for you if you are dealing with any of these:

• Pimple marks that stay on the skin for months after the pimple has healed (post-acne marks).

Skin types: Suitable for all skin types – oily, combination, normal and dry. Because the formula includes glycolic acid, people with very sensitive skin should start slowly (night-time only for the first week) and patch test first.

Who should be careful: Skip Clarity on broken, sunburnt or irritated skin. 1. Cleanse your face and pat it dry.
2. Put 2–3 drops on your fingertips and spread over the whole face, with a little extra on spots and patches. Keep away from the eyes.
3. Massage gently until absorbed (about a minute), then follow with your moisturiser.
4. In the morning always finish with sunscreen. Use Clarity daily, morning and/or night.

Tip: New to actives or have sensitive skin? Use Clarity at night only for the first 5–7 days, then add the morning use if your skin is comfortable.

Using both Beautefire serums? Put Vitamin C in the morning and Clarity at night. Sunscreen is the step that protects your results: sun exposure darkens the very spots Clarity is working on.

• Weeks 1–2: skin usually feels smoother and more hydrated. Do not expect spots to move yet.
• Weeks 4–6: our guidance is that many people see their tone looking clearer and recent marks softer with daily use.
• 2–3 months and beyond: older, deeper marks take longer. Keep going and keep using sunscreen.

Some customers write in their reviews that they noticed a difference earlier, in one to three weeks. Individual results vary with skin, the age of the marks and sun exposure. Clarity will not remove raised or pitted scars, moles, birthmarks or deep melasma.
