Quick answer: In Ramadan, keep skincare short and steady. Cleanse and moisturise at sehri, put on a serum and sunscreen before you leave the house, carry a lip balm, and do a simple double cleanse and night serum after iftar. Drinking enough water between iftar and sehri matters more than any product, and a cosmetic cannot make up for it.

What changes for your skin in Ramadan
Fasting changes your day, not the basics of skin. You eat and drink at different times, you may sleep less and in two parts, and you spend long afternoons in the sun, in a hot kitchen or in an air-conditioned office. Many people notice that their skin feels drier or looks duller by the afternoon, and their lips are the first thing to complain. Those are everyday comfort and appearance changes; they are not a medical problem. If you have a skin condition, are pregnant or take regular medicines, speak to your doctor about your routine as you would in any other month.
The best Ramadan routine is the one you can finish half asleep. Three or four steps done every day beat a ten-step routine you give up on by the third roza.
A Ramadan day in one table
| When | What to do | Beautefire step |
|---|---|---|
| Sehri | Rinse your face with lukewarm water and add a light moisturiser. Drink plenty of water. | None needed; keep it gentle |
| After fajr or before leaving | Serum, then sunscreen. Add BB cream only if you need it. | C Glow, Hybrid SPF-95, Bloom Base |
| Afternoon | If you are outdoors, blot sweat and reapply sunscreen every 2–3 hours. Lip balm whenever lips feel dry. | Hybrid SPF-95, Bloom lip balm |
| Iftar | Wash your hands and face, then lip balm once you have eaten. | Bloom lip balm |
| After taraweeh | Remove sunscreen and makeup with a double cleanse, then a night serum and moisturiser. | Clarity if you have dark spots |
Step by step
1. Sehri: keep it light
You do not need serums at three in the morning. A splash of lukewarm water and a light moisturiser is enough, and it keeps the morning routine for later, when you are awake and about to leave. If you wash your face with a cleanser, choose a gentle one and skip scrubs; skin that is already a little dry does not need friction.
2. Before you go out: serum and sunscreen
A morning serum such as C Glow, a 30 ml serum with 10% stabilised Vitamin C made for dull, tired-looking skin, takes under a minute. Use two to three drops. Then apply sunscreen generously: Hybrid SPF-95 is a lightweight, fragrance-free sunscreen (the 95 is part of its name, not a measured rating) and the directions on the pack say to apply it 15–20 minutes before sun exposure and to reapply every 2–3 hours or after sweating. Ramadan days can be long, so if you are outdoors at midday, plan one reapplication.
3. Lips: little and often
Dry lips are the classic fasting complaint. Keep a balm where you can reach it, avoid licking your lips and reapply whenever they feel tight. The Bloom balms (Nude, Pink and Red, 10 g each) are hydrating, sheer-tinted and contain fragrance (Parfum), so patch test if your lips are sensitive. They have no SPF.
4. After iftar: cleanse properly
The evening is the best time to do the step that matters most: removing sunscreen, sweat, dust and any makeup. Cleanse twice if you wore sunscreen and BB cream, once with an oil or balm cleanser and once with a gentle face wash. Follow with a serum you use at night and a moisturiser. If you are working on dark spots or pimple marks, Clarity (a 30 ml serum with 2% Alpha Arbutin) is the night serum in our range; it contains a little glycolic acid, so start slowly if your skin is sensitive.
Makeup in Ramadan
Fasting days are not the time for heavy layers. A light base such as Bloom Base (one adaptive shade, light-to-medium coverage, natural-looking finish) over sunscreen is usually all you need for the office or an iftar invitation. Set only the T-zone with powder if you shine, and blot instead of adding more cream through the day. For a special iftar, add a tinted lip balm and a little mascara and stop there. Our Eid glow and quick makeup page has a five-minute plan for the big day.
What to avoid
- Starting several new products on day one. Introduce anything new two weeks before Ramadan, one product at a time, with a patch test.
- Over-exfoliating. Dull skin tempts people to scrub. Gentle cleansing and moisture are kinder.
- Skipping sunscreen because you are inside. Windows, the car and the walk to the mosque all add up.
- Expecting a detox. No cream or serum cleanses your body or replaces water. Skincare only looks after the surface.

Frequently asked questions
What skincare routine is best for fasting in Ramadan?
A short one: lukewarm water and light moisturiser at sehri, a serum and sunscreen before you leave, lip balm through the day and a double cleanse with a night serum after iftar. Keep it to products your skin already knows.
Why does my skin look dull and dry during Ramadan?
Less water during the day, shorter sleep and long hours in sun or air-conditioning can all leave skin looking tired. Drinking water between iftar and sehri, gentle cleansing and a moisturiser usually help it look better. See a doctor if dryness is painful or comes with a rash.
Should I wear sunscreen while fasting?
Yes, if you go outside. Apply it before leaving and reapply every 2–3 hours when you are outdoors or sweating, as the directions on Hybrid SPF-95 say. Indoors all day, one morning application is usually enough.
How do I stop my lips from cracking when I am fasting?
Use a hydrating balm often, put on a thick layer before bed, avoid licking and picking, and drink water at night. Lips that bleed or do not heal need a doctor.
Does applying skincare break the fast?
That is a religious question, so please ask your scholar; we are a skincare brand and cannot give rulings. If you prefer to avoid any doubt, you can do most of your routine at sehri or after iftar.
When should I start a new serum before Ramadan?
About two weeks before, one product at a time, after a patch test. That gives you time to see how your skin reacts before the fasting schedule begins.
Roman Urdu mein khulasa
Ramadan mein routine chhota rakhein. Sehri par halka moisturizer, bahar jane se pehle serum aur sunblock (dhoop mein har 2–3 ghante baad dobara), din bhar lip balm, aur iftar ke baad achi tarah chehra saaf karke raat ka serum aur moisturizer. Iftar aur sehri ke darmiyan pani peena kisi bhi product se zyada zaroori hai. Naya product Ramadan se do hafte pehle patch test ke saath shuru karein.
