Quick answer: As a wedding guest, plan by function, not by product count. Do a two-week prep, wear sunscreen to daytime events, add a thin light base and tinted lip balm for evenings, try nothing new in the last week and cleanse properly each night. Sunscreen, BB cream and a lip balm come to Rs.4,197 with free shipping.

Wedding season is a run of long days

Between October and February many families have a mehndi, a barat or baraat and a walima within a few days, often in different cities. That means repeated makeup, late nights, dry indoor air and long hours in the sun at daytime functions. Your skin does not need a new routine for each event. It needs a steady basic routine, a plan for what goes on top and a proper cleanse at the end of the night.

Two weeks before

  • Use only products you already know. Add at most one new product, patch test it, and start it at least a week before the first function.
  • Wear sunscreen every morning; marks from a tan or a pimple show in photos.
  • Use a lip balm daily so that lipstick or tint sits on soft lips.
  • Test your base. Bloom Base has one adaptive shade, so try it at the jawline in daylight now, not on the day.

Function by function

EventWhat your skin facesWhat to do
Mehndi (often day or early evening)Sun, heat, sweat, dancingSerum if you use one, Hybrid SPF-95 generously, a thin layer of base, blot instead of re-layering. Reapply sunscreen on bare areas if you step outside.
Barat or baraatLong hours, stage lights, makeup artistTell your artist what you use; avoid a surprise product. If you do your own, keep it light: sunscreen, a thin base, T-zone powder, tint on the lips.
WalimaPhotos, lighter outfits, sitting for hoursFresh layer of sunscreen in the morning, a light base, lip balm and a tissue for blotting. Keep it comfortable.
Every nightMakeup, sunscreen and dust on the skinDouble cleanse (balm or oil, then a gentle face wash) and a moisturiser. Skip actives if your skin feels tender.

Lips and tint

The Bloom lip balms (Nude, Pink and Red, 10 g each) are hydrating and sheer-tinted. A customer called Mahdeed wrote that Red Bloom gives a natural reddish tint and that she does not like wearing sticky gloss; that is one person's view. They have no SPF and contain fragrance (Parfum), so patch test if your lips are sensitive. Layer lipstick over a balm if you want a stronger colour, and check that the lipstick does not clash with the tint.

A light base, not a mask

For guests, a thin layer of base over sunscreen is usually enough. A customer, Arooj, wrote that she wore Bloom Base to a function without foundation and the skin looked even in photos. That is her experience, not a guarantee. Bloom Base has light-to-medium buildable coverage and will not cover deep marks fully. If you want a full-coverage look for a close-up photo, see a makeup artist for that day. The BB cream for oily skin guide has tips for hot halls, and the hijabi routine covers neck and hairline.

If you are travelling for the wedding

Keep your products in a bag you carry, not in a hot car boot; the sunscreen pack says to store it below 30°C. Check the bottle caps are tight. Take the same routine you use at home, not a new set you have not tested. The travel kit page has a packing checklist.

What it costs

A guest kit of Hybrid SPF-95, Bloom Base and a Bloom lip balm is Rs.4,497 at list price and Rs.4,197 after the multi-buy saving, with free shipping. Cash on delivery adds Rs.100; bank transfer has no fee. Order at least a week or two before the first function so you can patch test; delivery takes about 2–5 working days, and we cannot promise a date for a particular event.

Who this is not for: if you are the bride, use the 12-week wedding plan instead; guests do not need that depth. If you want full-glam coverage for several events, a light base will not give it. And if your skin is reactive, do not try anything new in the week of the events.

Frequently asked questions

How should a guest prepare skin for a wedding?

Keep it simple for two weeks: a gentle cleanse, sunscreen every morning and a lip balm. Add at most one new product, a week before, after a patch test.

What should I wear on my skin to a mehndi?

Sunscreen, a thin light base if you like, and a tinted balm. Blot sweat instead of adding more cream.

Can I use the same makeup for the barat and the walima?

Yes, but cleanse fully between events and moisturise. Do not layer yesterday's makeup under today's.

How do I take off wedding makeup?

Use a balm or oil cleanser first, then a gentle face wash. This clears sunscreen and base more fully than a single wash.

Is Bloom Base enough for a wedding?

It is a light, buildable base for guests. For full-coverage close-up photos, a makeup artist is a better choice.

Can I order shortly before a wedding?

Orders are packed in 1 to 2 business days and delivered in about 2–5 working days, but a date cannot be guaranteed. Order early.
